All About Aerators

Summer time in the state of Arizona can be brutal. That’s why so many Arizona residents love having a pool to relax in. However, it’s no secret that rising temperatures in the air can impact the temperature in your pool. So how do you keep your pool cool? Well, we have a solution for you: a pool aerator! Investing in a pool aerator will help to keep your pool comfortable and cool.

What Exactly is It?

The aerator is a tool that cools pool water through a ventilation system; It’s an attachment installed onto the side of a pool that pumps its water through a sprayer, oxygenates it, and returns it into the pool. The sprayed water droplets absorb oxygen, creating a cooling effect on the droplets and subsequently on the pool as a whole.

How Do You Control It?

Pool aerators can be turned on and off by a valve. Depending on the kind you purchase, you may have a label on your valve making it easy to locate. If no label is given, contact us to help you locate and use the valve.

What are the Results?

During summer months, pools can reach temperatures in the 90s or higher. This process can bring temperatures down by as much as four degrees so that you, your children, or friends can take a dip in the pool without it feeling like a jacuzzi.

3 Things Every Arizona Pool Owner Needs

To get the most out of your Arizona pool, there are three must-haves in particular that transform your pool from pleasant to stunning. We’re not talking about basics such as skimmers and filters—we’re talking about design touches that turn your pool into a work of art. These features will not only boost your satisfaction with your pool, but also the value of your home and your prestige with your friends. So, with all of the fancy features that New Image Landscape and Pools can add to your pool, what are the must-haves?

Built-in Spa

First of all, a spa is a must. The nice warm heat and gentle bubbles are basically a massage you have access to at any time! A spa is the ultimate in relaxation—it’s as good as a way to unwind after work as it is as comfortable seating at a party. Spas are one of the few things in life that are healthy and feel good!

Now, while there are benefits to a portable or above-ground spa, nothing brings the yard together like a spa built-in to the rest of the pool. Plus, built-in spas hold their heat better, saving money on energy costs. They also tend to be easier to maintain, meaning even lower stress than above-ground spas! So our recommendation? Go with a built-in spa.

Accent Lighting

Have you realized that built-in pool lights tend to be barely functional and not-at-all aesthetic? Fix that problem and make your pool sparkle and shine at all times of night! With LED lighting, not only are pool lights brighter and more efficient than ever, they’re also highly customizable. Take some bright white lights and your pool is as brilliant as day at any time, or throw in some soft greens and purples for mood lighting—you can even set the lights up to constantly change color! Keep in mind too, that lights are more than aesthetic—better lighting means a safer environment for nighttime parties.

You might have seen waterfalls at certain public pools or private resorts, but did you know you can add one to your personal pool? Waterfalls add an inimitable touch of elegance to your whole yard with its risen shape and gentle movement. The sound is soothing and also helps to drown out noise from other yards or the street behind the house—it’s like a fountain that blends seamlessly with the pool! Waterfalls are the perfect way to show you mean business about a beautiful backyard.

5 Tips for New Pool Owners

After years of suffering through scorching hot desert summers, you were finally able to install the pool of your dreams…sparkling clean with cool refreshing waters, you can’t help but smile every time you catch a glimpse of it through your bedroom windows. You’re already visualizing years of pool parties with all your friends and family gathered ‘round its crystal clear depths, applauding you and your wise choice of building the perfect pool…but do you really know everything you need to ensure that your Arizona pool stays as beautiful as it does today? To help make sure that you do, we have compiled a list of tips that every new pool owner should know.

Your Arizona pool should be drained every other year

Arizona water is known to be hard and over time, the total dissolved solids (TDS) will become abundant, giving false chemical readings which can be damaging to your pool as well as to your equipment. Draining it regularly can help you avoid this problem.

Chemicals Balance is important

Everyone knows to keep an eye out for the chlorine levels, but did you know that alkalinity and PH balance are equally important? Test kits are inexpensive and can ensure that ALL of your chemicals remain in balance.

Pool Pump Circulation

Your pump needs to operate long enough to turn over your pool 2 times a day. Everyone’s pool is different, but generally this means running it 1 hour per 10 degrees of ambient temperature during the hottest summer months and half that long during the remainder of the year.

Filter maintenance is important too

It doesn’t matter what type of filter you have; if the pressure exceeds 5 to 8 pounds higher than what it normally runs, it’s time to backwash or clean the filter. Again, every pool is different, so be sure to discuss what the normal pressure of your filter should be with the people who installed it.
